I was thrilled. Later in the afternoon, we sat on a park bench, too exhausted to move. I studied the face of my year-old baby, who was now a man with a ridiculous Pirates of the Caribbean hat on.

When the Haugh children were little, Disneyland was their favorite destination. There were pictures to be taken with Mickey Mouse, Cinderella and Donald Duck, and a belief that fairy tales did come true as we walked through the castle to Fantasyland. The Happiest Place on Earth had true meaning for all of us. Years ago, when our lives together began, we were strangers starting out on a journey to become a family.
Although biologically connected, there was so much to learn about each other.
Today, my children are adults with lives of their own. Going back in time, back to the beginning when I was the center of their universe, helped to link me to the person I used to be for them. Reliving old memories is one of my favorites past times. Although biologically connected, there was so much to learn about each other. Today, my children are adults with lives of their own.
Going back in time, back to the beginning when I was the center of their universe, helped to link me to the person I used to be for them. Reliving old memories is one of my favorites past times. I have boxes of photographs and videos that help me do that, and now at Christmas, my children and I appreciate a whole new meaning for gift giving. Instead of spending money on things that only find their way to the back of a drawer, we make a point of spending precious time together and put that money towards a family event or trip together.

Dec 18, Catherinehaine Haines rated it really liked it. A book that is just right for the run up to Christmas.
It made me smile as it had some great characters. It must be so much fun to be In Am Dram! Jan 27, Janet Camilleri rated it really liked it. Almost worthy of 5 stars If there'd been a 4 and a half star option I would have picked that.
Nice quick festive read. This was pretty cute and funny. It was irritating to see the main character accept her boyfriend being a dick for the majority of the book though so a 3. Fabulous easy read, funny, clever all consuming story. I could have read it in one sitting if work didn't get in the way. I didn't want to put it down. Look forward to reading more. A warm cosy Christmas read with lots of great characters and full of amusement. Mar 03, Sall rated it it was ok. The ending was good until it ended abruptly and parts of the book had excellent qualities but overall it was the tedium in places that dragged and made the book feel never ending.
Apr 04, Roz Radmore rated it it was amazing. I raced through it in one go. Nov 05, Sarah rated it did not like it Shelves: not-finished. Abandoned on page 61 of There was nothing technically wrong with it but just not interested enough to continue. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was an easy, enjoyable read which moved along with good pace.
It is an entirely predictable love story where the good guy prevails over the bad guy and gets the girl. In a Christmas setting, this is a heartwarming story, beautifully written which I have no hesitation in recommending. Reviews can also be found on my blog Escapades of a Bookworm What was brilliant about this book was that there were so many ways in which it parodied Cinderella.
There was the awkward love triangle, a stepmother and the required help from a fairy godmother. This was a quick read and the chapters are nice and short so if you can only snatch a couple of minutes of reading time this is is perfect for you.
I thought that the second half was better than the first half as everything went full steam ahead. But I loved the romance, the show, the whole cast. For me the title of the book is what hooked me. The first edition consisted of copies, which sold for 6 shillings each.
The Blue Fairy Book was the first volume in the series, and so it contains some of the best known tales, taken from a variety of sources. But where to begin? I had found a review of it on the Scottish Book Trust website. Slithering stoorworms, mischievious brownies, fierce kelpies and magical selkies — these are the creatures of Scottish folklore.
Retelling each in its own individual style, she presents funny tales, moving tales and enchanting fairy tales. Soar with the goshawk, dive with selkies and battle with the stoorworm, as each story is brought to life with exquisite illustrations by Scottish fine artist Kate Leiper, which brim with otherworldly beauty. A wonderful gift, this is a truly stunning book to be treasured for a lifetime and will be enjoyed by parents and grandparents as well as children.

Attached to the Scottish Storytelling Centre is John Knox House, creating a very unique venue that incorporates contemporary design with medieval architecture.
A modern staple of animal activism, perhaps? It has lovely characters and a few that are really annoying like Jon I just really didn't like him. We love funny stories at Storytime. A bit bland at the beginning perhaps, but you do grow to love her. But nonetheless, a lovely book to curl up and read in the holiday season only a few months away! Memories that will forever help us go back to the beginning.

The tales which impressed our imagination so strongly when we were young have left their marks on our imaginary forever but there is much more behind them than we may have thought first. The hidden meaning of these tales may explain why they have been written about so extensively.
